Channel One News
Channel One News is a national (US) TV program that gives schools TVs in exchange for them showing their news program everyday in school (so ALOT of your schools in America show it).
Its like news for teenagers. If you watch it or check out their website then you'll know they had a contest to have Swithfoot play at your school and tape their news show there. Well, My school won. (If you didn't watch it, that'd be Rome High in Rome, Georgia). Giving free publicity to them  because we got out of school half the day and got to listen to them tape and the concert. (NOTE: You can see me in the show if you watched it or watch it online but you have no way of knowing its me). |

Is this channel a Orwell 1984 New Speak channel? Is it watered down Politicaly Correct information? I am leary of Goverment controled in classroom TV.
Things like this is why I always let my children watch anything on the cable feed. I never used a channel blocker....or an internet blocker. |

Ooh... I remember Channel One! It was the latest greatest newest thing then. We all loved it cause we didn't actually have to listen to the teacher for 15 minutes.
 Congrats on the win. Switchfoot is pretty cool. They play on our local Christian alternative rock station alot. |

We used to always make fun of Channel One, but at least they did something reasonably "hip" for you guys. |

Yes small white bred towns, the one I use to grow up in had Channel One in middle school, well i left after middleschool so i dunno about high school but yeah it was watered down politics.

Wow... I remember Channel One. We had it in my middle school. Don't blame the brainwashing just on Ch. 1 though. The primary purpose of ANY public school is indoctrination. Education is a secondary outcome. The mail goal is to have as many kids as possible come out believing and practicing the same ideals.
EDIT: I am a teacher, and I teach social studies, so I know what I'm talking about here. |
